Yomi Kastro

Co-Founder / CEO

Yomi Kastro is the founder and CEO of Inveon and Inventures. He programmed his first software at the age of 11 and has dedicated himself to information technologies and internet ventures ever since. In 2006 he founded Inveon to develop web based software solutions and e-commerce infrastructures for enterprises in addition to creating internet ventures requiring advanced technology. Inveon is awarded as one of fastest growing technology companies in Turkey by Deloitte Fast50.

Kastro founded Inventures in 2009 as an accelerator to provide technology, investment and business development support to promising internet ventures. He is an investor and/or board member of more than 17 successful internet ventures including 1V1Y, Trendyol, Ideasoft, Evtiko, Blesh, Scorp, Tazemasa, myGini, Supplementler and Bulucak.com. He was selected as the “Most Successful Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009” by JCI. During his PhD, Kastro’s articles on Internet technologies, machine learning and software engineering were published in numerous academic journals. Completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in in Computer Engineering at Bogaziçi University recognized with a high honor’s degree, Kastro advanced his academic career by completing the Harvard Business School (HBS) Private Equity and Venture Capital Program. Yomi Kastro is a founding board member of Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation. In his spare time, he likes to travel and explore different countries on his touring motorcycle, solve brainteasers and listen to New Age music.

Emir Alkaş

Managing Partner

Inveon’s Managing Partner Emir Alkaş graduated from Boğaziçi University with honors degree in Computer Engineering. In his senior year, he started to work as a Basketball Coach in Efes Pilsen Sports Club. Alkaş, who coached the teams of different levels in Efes Pilsen for 8 years and was the assistant coach to the main team in last 4 years. Later he joined to the Galatasaray Cafe Crown as an assistant coach, Alkaş carried on the same duty at Anadolu Efes Basketball Team.

His area of expertise is analysing the opponent team. Emir Alkaş thinks his engineering skills has a unique harmony with analytics of basketball. In 2014, he joined Inveon full time, being in charge of technical processes, and developments.

Moris Kastro

Partner / Business Development Director

Moris Kastro graduated from the Boğaziçi University in 2008 with high-honors degree in Physics. After graduating influenced by the entrepreneurial spirit from Inveon, he joined Endeavor to consult entrepreneurs in the selection process.  Later he joined Google’s Dublin office in 2010, where he dedicated his first two years to working with the search engine team to improve the results of search engine.

In the following two years  he was focudes to protect subscribers from invalid clicking. Later in 2014, he joined Inveon to take responsibility of the Business Development processes. During his time at Google, he was invited to give speeches and to share the subscribers case studies all over the world. He kindly leads all of the Business Development Processes of Inveon.

Avi Alkaş

Avi Alkaş is an alumnus of Bosphorus University Business Administration and has more than 15 years experience in the concept development, leasing and management of shopping centres. Upon serving, projects like Akmerkez, Carousel, Izmit Outlet Center as a professional, on 1997 he established his firm Alkaş Consulting, which played significant roles on leading projects like Maxi, Karada Marina, Olivium, Tepe Nautilus, Optimum, Armada, KayseriPark, KoruPark İstinyePark and Kent Meydanı.

 As a founder member and still vice chairman of TCSCR (Turkish Council of Shopping Centers and Retailers), he has also been serving as a board member in ICSC ( International Council of Shopping Centers) European Advisory Board along with his presence in the ICSC European Award Jury. Avi Alkas is a faculty member in ICSC J. Riordan School for Professional Development. He also holds, the professional recognition titles of SCSM ( Senior Certified Shopping Center Manager) , SCMD (Senior Certified Marketing Director), CLS ( Certified Leasing Specialist) being the first in Europe. Since August 2008, Avi Alkaş is the chairman of Jones Lang La Salle Turkey. He is married and has two sons.

Alvi Mazon

Alvi Mazon

Alvi Mazon has received his degree in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey. While still at the University, he co-founded Karma Bilgisayar and became the driving force to grow the company from a small distributor of OEM parts in Turkey to the largest distributor of OEM parts in Europe with revenue of $1.5 billion and offices in 20 European countries.

Later the company was sold to a publicly traded US computer equipment distributor. Mazon also co-founded Arena and Armada Bilgisayar, which are presently traded on the Turkish Stock Exchange, and he serves as Member of Boards of these two companies. Mazon has invested into Airties in 2007 and joined the company’s Board to take an active role in the growth of Airties’ operations.

Arie Gözlüklü

Arie Gözlüklü

Arie E. Gozluklu is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. His research mainly focuses on empirical asset pricing, international finance and market microstructure.

His work has been published in leading finance journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management and Journal of Financial Markets. He also has written a chapter on ‘Empirical and Experimental Research on Transparency and Disclosure’ in a book edited by Kent Baker and Halil Yilmaz and published by John Wiley & Sons. He is part of the program committee for the 43rd European Finance Association and World Finance Conference. He serves as ad hoc referee for Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of European Economic Association, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Markets and Journal of Empirical Finance. He has taught at Bocconi University and Warwick Business School. He has a masters degree in economics from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelena and a PhD in Finance from Bocconi University, Milan. His research has been presented in many international conferences including IMF Secular Stagnation, European Finance Conference, China International Conference in Finance, NBER Summer Institute and Banque de France.

Okan Demirkan completed his education respectively in Israel, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and started his legal career in 2000.

He is currently a partner at Kolcuoğlu Demirkan Koçaklı Attorneys at Law, leading the firm’s Dispute Resolution, Energy & Infrastructure and Ethics & Compliance practices. Mr. Demirkan represents domestic and international clients at international arbitration tribunals and in their local litigation proceedings, including commercial, administrative and employment lawsuits as well as criminal lawsuits related to white-collar crimes. With significant experience over 15 years in international arbitration, he acts as arbitrator and from time to time as expert witness in local and international arbitration proceedings. Mr. Demirkan is ranked among Turkey’s leading lawyers in the area of Dispute Resolution by The Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and other notable international ranking publications. Mr. Demirkan is also highly specialized in energy and infrastructure projects. All being Turkey’s most significant and internationally critical projects, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Project (BTC), Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP), Shah Deniz Stage 2 Natural Gas Sale Project and Sinop Nuclear Power Plant Project are among the projects where he played a key role. In 2013, 2014 and most recently in 2017, Mr. Demirkan was awarded the “Energy and Natural Resources Lawyer of the Year” Client Choice Award by the International Law Office magazine. He is a co-author of the book “Turkish and International Legislation and Treaties on the Security of Critical Energy Infrastructure”, published in 2012. Okan Demirkan is a Board member of the Turkish Ethics and Reputation Society (TEID), Turkey’s leading non-governmental organisation in the area of ethics and compliance, and the founder of TEID’s Legislation Development and Activation Working Group. Mr. Demirkan has been striving to develop anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws concerning the private sector in Turkey. He also provides legal advice to his clients in this practice area. Mr. Demirkan is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), International Nuclear Law Association (INLA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Young International Arbitrators Group (YIAG), International Bar Association (IBA), Turkish British Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TBCCI), Turkish Corporate Governance Association (TKYD), Turkish Ethics and Reputation Society (TEID), YenibirLider (A New Leader) Association and Galatasaray Sports Association.
